A Firm is Born

In the early 1970s, Frank Danyi and Tom Maloney, who had known each other for some time, created Maloney & Danyi and bought their first building together at 429 East Broad Street. Their firm prospered and they were soon partners with Allan Goodman, who father was a lawyer and for whom Lillian Danyi had worked as a legal secretary prior to leaving Bethlehem in 1958. They were soon joined by Paul Hensel, a former FBI Agent, as a partner, and Lawrence Center, a young associate.
A Rising Star
In 1977, Kevin Danyi got his drivers’ license, which meant not only that he could drive his father’s car, but that he could go to the courthouses. Kevin worked with his father, who taught Kevin everything he knew about searching titles, real estate, and estate law while Kevin was in high school.
In 1985, Kevin Danyi graduated from law school and passed the Pennsylvania Bar at the very same time that Bruce Davis resigned from Bethlehem Steel and a new firm was created: Maloney, Danyi, Davis & Danyi, this time at East Broad & Elm Streets. One of the attorneys practicing with the firm was a soon-to-be-well-known public figure, Paul McHale. McHale was a Pennsylvania State Assemblyman and a U.S. Congressman for several terms. Furthermore, he served as a colonel in the first Gulf War in the United States Marine Corps, and was then hired by President Clinton to be second-in-command behind former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge of the newly-formed Homeland Security Department.
"I'm Moving Out" -Billy Joel
In 1996, while attending a fundraiser for one of his old high school friend, State Senator Lisa Boscola, Kevin and Maria Danyi happened to meet Catherine Barrett, who had recently been widowed in April that year. The three of them left the party, walked through the buiding, and Kevin & Maria Danyi bought it the next morning.
After 1996, Kevin Danyi began fulfilling his dream of building his own law firm. He immediately started learning the advanced practice of tax, estate, and trust law and, on the advice of Jacob Kolb and Professor Stephen Leimberg,, Kevin Danyi was accepted, at age 36, into Villanova Law School and obtained another law degree, an LLM in Tax Law and a Certification in Estate Planning. While doing this, he also completed the requirements and passed all the examinations to obtain a CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) from American College in Bryn Mawr; Kevin also studied for and took the examinations for the Series 6 and Series 63 securities licenses, which he has in addition to Pennsylvania life, health, variable annuity, and real estate title licenses.
